One of our mottoes is that every moment is a God moment. We hope to help equip people to see God not just in brief moments during their week but in every bit of life that surrounds them. That includes movies!!!
We have put together a (growing) collection of brief Bible Studies based upon popular movies. The study compares a heroic figure or group in scripture with a heroic figure our group from the film. That's why the collection is called "Heroes of Scripture and Screen." The studies also focus on a specific theme.
Each study is intended to facilitate a 10-20 minute conversation by offering five key questions. Three of the questions are simple and the same each time. Two of the questions are complicated and particular to the film and Bible passage. The questions are generally aimed at the High School grade level but can be adapted to younger youth and kids.
We recommend creating a schedule of "family movie nights" that encourages families to watch a movie and to do its Bible study together weekly or monthly. You can also add a virtual discussion session for your youth to debate the movies and their questions with each other and with you!
